Ignorance may be bliss for the one who writes the web site, but that’s rarely the case for the one who visits it. If your site looks unprofessional, so will your reputationI’ve put together this collection of tips for designing what I would consider a good site, one that will make your visitors take you seriously. I’m sure others may disagree in what they would consider a good site. You may choose to agree or disagree with anything in this guide – there are no rules for good design. I try to point out considerations you should take into thought, and many things visitors in today’s age may find distracting or annoying. You will have a great deal of freedom while designing a site after reading my little tidbits, and hopefully you will have a very appealing final product! Many parts of this guide will discuss using certain HTML tags and attributes to improve your design. If you don’t know HTML, I suggest visiting HTML: An Interactive Tutorial for Beginners, written by yours truly. A Web page is a document, typically written in HTML, that is almost always accessible via HTTP, a protocol that transfers information from the Web server to display in the user's Web browser.
All publicly accessible websites are seen collectively as constituting the "World Wide Web".
The pages of websites can usually be accessed from a common root URL called the homepage, and usually reside on the same physical server. The URLs of the pages organize them into a hierarchy, although the hyperlinks between them control how the reader perceives the overall structure and how the traffic flows between the different parts of the sites.
Some websites require a subscription to access some or all of their content. Examples of subscription sites include many business sites, parts of many news sites, academic journal sites, gaming sites, message boards, Web-based e-mail, services, social networking website, and sites providing real-time stock market data.

3 Ways to Make Visitors Keep Coming Back to Your Website
Everybody wants to get more and more traffic to their websites. But what about retaining the traffic and making it to keep coming back and often? Most webmasters might neglect this thing - they may spend a lot of money and efforts on advertising but do not pay attention to making their website sticky - that is, making it such that visitors stay there long, bookmark the site and come back to it.What are the ways to make your website sticky and make visitors come back. Here are a few tips:1. Start a forum or shoutbox:A forum or shoutbox is a place for your web visitors to voice their opinions and don't we all love giving out our opinions (sometimes even when not asked).Shoutboxes or forums can be a great way to retain your website or blog visitors. They might simply love this feature.Another good thing about this is that people may start interacting with each other on your website and build free content for you. As conversations grow, people may soon start developing a sense of community that would make them keep coming back to your site again and again. There are many services and softwares in order to build shoutboxes and forums on your site. 1 service that I can suggest for adding forums to your site would be from bravenet.com. They are professionals and you can register for this service from their site but first you need to create a bravenet id which is free to do.For adding shoutboxes for free on your website, you can check out getfreeshoutboxes.com website.2. Polls and Surveys:Polls can also provide the visitors the opportunity to give out their opinions on a specific topic. Polls and surveys can engage the visitors, making them more involved with what's going on.3. Update your site frequently with fresh useful content:Another great way to make people keep coming back to your website or blog is to have very useful excellent content on your site and keep updating it, adding more to it. This 1 feature can endear your website to so many people that you might be pleasantly surprised.Do you have a website or blog and want to get more traffic to it?What's a better way of getting free targeted web site traffic than through top search engine ranking.
